Armed robberies in Alberta, B.C. and Saskatchewan prompt manhunt

ABOVE: Three separate RCMP detachments made a rare move to simultaneously release details on a string of bank heists. It’s hoped they can narrow in on the sole suspect they believe is responsible. Jill Croteau reports.

CALGARY – RCMP are looking to the public for help identifying an armed bank robber who targeted financial institutions in three provinces.

Police say the suspect had a weapon with him during each robbery, which he either mentioned or showed to staff.

He is considered armed and dangerous and RCMP are warning the public not to approach him.

The suspect is described as being between 25 to 35-years-old with a slim build, 5’6” to 6’ tall and unshaven with a brown goatee/beard.

During each robbery, the suspect was dressed in dark clothing and wearing gloves, with a black toque and dark sunglasses.

RCMP are looking to the public for help identifying an armed bank robber who targeted financial institutions in three provinces.

RCMP say the suspect is believed to have committed four robberies at financial institutions in B.C., on the following dates:

December 1st, 2014 at 2:42 pm in PrincetonDecember 9th, 2014 at 4:37 pm in VernonDecember 23rd, 2014 at 4:54 pm in MerrittJanuary 21st, 2015 at 5:55 pm in Aldergrove

In addition, he is believed to be responsible for three robberies in Alberta, on the following dates:

December 19th, 2014 at 4:55 pm in High RiverJanuary 13th, 2015 at 5:55 pm in LethbridgeJanuary 16th, 2015 at 3:30 pm in Claresholm

RCMP also believe the suspect is behind one robbery in Saskatchewan, on the following date:

 January 8th, 2015 at 7:16 pm in Swift Current

No employees or members of the public were injured in the robberies.
